Description of Services:
The Yale Cancer Center is a National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center dedicated to cutting-edge cancer research and the provision of direct cancer services such as cancer treatment (e.g., surgery, chemotherapy and radiation), diagnostic screening (e.g., for breast, cervical prostate and colorectal cancer) and a variety of cancer-related support services. In addition, clinical cancer trials are available for a range of cancers such as bladder, brain, breast, colorectal, gynecological, head and neck, kidney, hematologic and lymphatic, liver, lung, skin, pancreas, prostate and thyroid. Similarly, this Center conducts various activities in community outreach and health education, and offers a range of patient advocacy and psychosocial support services for cancer survivors and their families/caregivers, including support groups for brain tumors, head and neck cancer, lung cancer, multiple myeloma, prostate cancer and breast cancer.
Treatment Information:
Treatment services include chemotherapy, radiation, surgery, hormone therapy, targeted therapy, stem cell implant as well as clinical trials.
Screening Information:
The Screening and Diagnostic Services Include: Office Visits, Screenings and Diagnostics, Mammograms, Breast Biopsies, , Pap Tests, , Surgical Consultations and Clinical Breast Exams.
Support Group Information:
Various groups/activities to promote health or help ease the cancer experience.
Reduced Cost Information:
Women over 40 and either without insurance or a deductible over $1,000 are eligible for Mammograms. Women over 19 and either without insurance or a deductible over $1,000 are eligible for pap smears.
