Description of Services:
Bristol Hospital’s vision for cancer care is to provide access to the best quality care locally, so that patients do not have to travel long distances for treatment. The Bristol Hospital Cancer Care Center is affiliated with the Yale-New Haven Health System Network, which includes Yale-New Haven Hospital, Yale Cancer Center, and the Yale School of Medicine. They provide a comprehensive range of state-of-the-art services and equipment, treatment and diagnostic screening services (e.g., free and reduced cost mammograms), information about ongoing clinical trials and new treatment options, community outreach and health education , complimentary therapy, palliative care, access to cancer-related information, education, and support and a cancer registry that collects data on the type and stage of cancers and treatments.
The Bristol Hospital is affiliation with the Yale-New Haven Health System network provides physicians and clinical staff with information on the latest clinical treatments and research; access to clinical resources, cancer protocols and clinical trials; and the opportunity to network with Yale-New Haven Hospital and Yale Cancer Center specialists in medical oncology surgical oncology, oncology nursing and other allied health professions. Yale physicians come to Bristol Hospital to provide care in their disease specialty and Bristol Hospital patients will have access to Yale Cancer Center’s programs and resources, including network clinical trials.
Treatment Information:
Treatment services include chemotherapy, radiation, surgery, hormone therapy, targeted therapy, stem cell implant as well as clinical trials.
Screening Information:
The Screening and Diagnostic Services Include: Office Visits, Screenings and Diagnostics, Mammograms, Breast Biopsies, Breast Ultrasounds, Fine Needle Aspirations, Pap Tests, Colposcopies and Colposopy-directed biopsies, LEEP, Surgical Consultations and Clinical Breast Exams.

Support Group & Breast Health Look Good Feel Better:
Look Good…Feel Better is a free national program to help improve the self-image and self-esteem of women experiencing appearance-related side effects from cancer treatment.
The Doctor Is In & Breast Health Innovations In the Diagnosis and Treatment Of Breast Cancer: A class to learn more about digital mammography and breast MRI, new drug therapies, the use of genetic testing in predicting the chance of developing breast cancer and new technology that can predict the likelihood of breast cancer reoccurrence in women with newly diagnosed and early stage invasive breast cancer.
The Doctor Is In & Breast Health Understanding Breast Reconstruction: Many women choose to have breast reconstruction after they have lost a breast because of cancer. There are many techniques that can be used and many decisions that have to be made. This program provides an overview of the types of plastic surgery techniques that are used, who is a candidate for the procedure and the safety and risks of the procedure.
The Doctor Is In & Breast Health What You Should Know About Breast Cancer: A class to learn how women can arm themselves against the battle with breast cancer by becoming more informed about risk factors, mammograms, breast self exams and new treatment options.
