Make an impact on breast cancer in Connecticut!

The Komen Connecticut Race for the Cure is more than just a run or walk. It's an event with a mission - to raise funds to help Connecticut women and their families who are touched by breast cancer.

When you register for the Komen Connecticut Race for the Cure your registration fee mainly covers the cost of putting on the Race. This is why we need you to take your participation a step further by fundraising and collecting pledges in support of your run or walk.

By running, walking or 'sleeping in' on Race morning, you are making a difference in the local fight against breast cancer.

Learn!

When you are raising funds for the Race, you are directly helping Connecticut residents with breast cancer and funding national research to eradicate the disease. Learn as much as you can about Komen Connecticut's programs.

Ask!

Start asking for pledges early! Ask anyone and everyone. You'll be surprised at the generosity.

  • Ask for a specific amount when possible, especially from corporate donors.
  • Ask everyone to give something and make it clear that no amount is too small. Every contribution will make a difference - even if it's only $5.00.
  • Ask people you see daily, or people in your phone, address and email lists - especially those who know you're participating in the Race. So many lives have been touched by breast cancer, you'll find a lot of support.
  • Be sure to ask your supporters to indicate that they are supporting you or your team when mailing a donation to our office. We want to be sure to credit all contributions appropriately!
  • Provide updates. Let people know how much you've raised and how close you are to reaching your goal - and how they can help get you there! One great way to track your progress is by printing and posting our Personal Progress Poster in your cubicle or work area.
  • Thank every individual who helps you reach your goal. Let them know that they are making a difference in Connecticut.

Believe!

Excitement is contagious. It is crucial that your team members and donors see and feel your dedication and enthusiasm.
