Host a Komen-Branded Event
Komen Connecticut is grateful for the opportunities to work with community organizations and individuals who wish to hold a special event fundraiser to help us with our promise to save lives and end breast cancer forever. Events can range from luncheons to galas, or from sports tournaments to proceeds from product sales. Our past fundraisers ran the gamut – we would love to hear from you about your creative idea!
We encourage everyone to first review the guidelines below to help determine which option is right for you and your event.
Option 1
You would choose this option if you are able to guarantee a $1500 donation to the fight against breast cancer and wish to use our logo with your event. Sometimes, organizations and individuals wish to use this mark to show the community that they have products, interests and values that support and are consistent with our vision – a world without breast cancer.
We are unable to honor every request for use of our logo, so please consider our guidelines established by our Headquarters to determine whether this option is right for your event. Next, you can submit your event for consideration using our form. Please note that Komen Connecticut needs two weeks lead time to review and reach a decision regarding collaboration for events. Should you have any questions in the meantime, please contact us.
We would be happy to post your event to our website and on our social media outlets.
Option 2
Some groups and individuals wish to fundraise and won’t need our logo or can’t meet the $1500 fundraising minimum. These events are typically being organized for the first time, are on a smaller scale, or aren’t of a nature that would require a logo. However, we strongly believe that fundraising support comes in all denominations – no donation is too small or too large. Events such as these can use our name, where your promotional materials would state that the event is “benefiting the Connecticut Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®.” Let us also help you by offering the option of creating a personal fundraising page through our website. This tool can help you raise money for your event. Individuals can also create a page to collect donations from family and friends to honor a survivor in their life or remember a loved one.
There are no minimum fundraising requirements and no further paperwork or agreements with our organization are required with this option. You would simply plan your fundraising event and send in your donation, or watch the donations roll in on your fundraising page. The proper tax documentation will then be sent to you. It’s that easy!
We would also post your event to our website if you provide a link to where the event is listed on your website. We also invite you to tag our organization in your promotional posts on Facebook and Twitter. You can find us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/komenct and on Twitter at www.twitter.com/komenct.
Create a personal fundraising page for your event.
Please note that with either option, while we are able to provide guidance for your event, we do not have the personnel to handle administrative tasks of Third Party Events. This includes distributing invitations, recruiting participants, sitting on planning committees, compiling RSVPs or selling tickets. You should be prepared to provide all of the support necessary to organize and conduct the event, including publicity and committing all funds required for the event.
Passionately Pink for the Cure®
Wear pink, raise funds, and fight breast cancer! Invite your workplace, school, or family to show their true colors by participating in your Passionately Pink fundraiser. Choose a day, recruit your group to wear pink, and make donations to Komen Connecticut. Get started now.
