2008 Komen CT Race For The Cure Volunteers Needed Now!

Once again, it’s time to recruit our volunteers for the 15th annual Komen CT Race for the Cure®. This year’s event will take place on Saturday, June 7th in Bushnell Park in Hartford, as we renew our commitment to Susan G. Komen for the Cure CT and its efforts to eradicate breast cancer as a life threatening disease. Last year’s volunteers and race participants were responsible for raising over $572,000 for breast cancer research and breast cancer programs in Connecticut. Bravo and thank you!

The popularity of our Race increases with each year - and each year, we depend on our wonderful, hard working volunteers to make it happen. Whether you volunteered last year or ten years ago, we hope we can count on you again to help us sponsor this popular event.

Perhaps you were not able to join us last year but will consider becoming a Komen volunteer for the 2008 Race. Without our volunteers, there could be no Race. If you volunteered with us in the past, you know how contagious the spirit of this Race has become. Everyone in the park on Race day shares in the wonderful “feel good” attitude that prevails and it is the volunteers who are largely responsible for creating this attitude. Our volunteers enjoy a wonderful sense of camaraderie as they perform a myriad of duties side-by-side with other volunteers from throughout Connecticut.

Here’s the schedule and the different jobs we have for this year’s race:

Race Day, June 7th	6:30AM – 11:30AM	Bushnell Park - Registration, T-Shirt pick up, Finish Line, Food Tent, Chip Tent, Split callers, Course Monitor, Water Station, In The Pink, Site break-down
