Breast Cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths among women ages 40 – 59 in the United States.

Komen Connecticut Race for the Cure® invites you to join in this annual event on Saturday, June 7, 2008 at Bushnell Park in Hartford, CT to realize our vision: a world without breast cancer.

We hope you will consider organizing a Team this year to participate in the 15th Komen Connecticut Race for the Cure®. Last year, over 2750 people on more than 206 Teams raised over $200,000 to help eradicate breast cancer as a life threatening disease! Funds raised by Komen Connecticut Race for the Cure® benefit organizations that provide education, screening and treatment programs in Connecticut, support programs for breast cancer survivors and their families, and national research. Seventy five percent of the proceeds will benefit Connecticut programs; and twenty five percent will go to the Komen Foundation Grant Program to fund research.

Who can form a Team? Anyone – Family and friends to show support of or in honor of a breast cancer survivor, neighborhood groups, schools, churches, synagogues, medical professionals, support groups, corporations, small businesses, and just about any group of 10 or more that you can think of! Recruit and HAVE FUN!!

Imagine if every person on a Team raised $100 in pledges how much closer we could be to realizing our vision: a world without breast cancer! Your team can create its own fundraising webpage including tools to easily email friends, family and coworkers, or team members; and can print out a copy of the Donations Collection Form, run customized campaigns, and more. You can start collecting donations today!!
