Knit For The Cure®

 Attention all Knitters and Crocheters!

Help fight breast cancer one stitch at at time!

Here is your opportunity to help in the fight against breast cancer while doing what you love to do:

      Donate hand-crafted items for the Pink Boutique, part of the Shop for the Cure on Race Day, June 7, 2008. Hats, scarves, mittens, shawls, felted bags, baby items, cell phone or iPod covers, or similar items. Creative use of pink is encouraged but any color items are welcome. 100% of the money raised through the sale of these items goes to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Connecticut Affiliate.

      Donate comfort items for the Oncology units of area hospitals. Chemo hats (winter and summer weights for men and women), lightweight shawls, lap robes or small throws, scarves and mittens (some types of chemo make people sensitive to the cold). These items are for anyone undergoing cancer treatment. The use of Pink is encouraged but all color items are welcome.

      Participate in Knit in the Park on Race Day, June 7, 2008. Participants will register for a special category of the race. There will be door prizes and an open area where everyone can come and spend the day knitting in the fresh air. More details will be available when registration opens in the Spring. Plan now! Form a team to join everyone in the park on Race Day!
