Thank you for your interest in conducting a fundraising event to
benefit the Connecticut Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen for the
Cure. Donations to Komen Connecticut are an important vehicle in
advancing our mission to save lives and end breast cancer
forever by empowering people, ensuring quality care for all and
energizing science to find the cures.
To accomplish this, we have several guidelines and requirements
to protect not only our Affiliate, but you as well.
To make the event
process as simple as possible the Komen national organization
has established guidelines for you to decide how you’d like to
proceed with your event.
After reviewing all of the guidelines, please complete an
application for Affiliate approval.
There are three ways to host an event to benefit breast cancer
and Komen:
The simplest and most straightforward event is the self-hosted
event where you host a breast cancer fundraising event using a
plain pink ribbon and educational materials which we can
provide. The simple event is not a Komen-specific event and is
billed as “proceeds to benefit breast cancer research,
education, screening and treatment.”
When complete, you collect any donations and send them to
Komen CT. The appropriate tax documentation will be provided to
you.
To host a Komen-branded event, which includes the use of our
name and logo, you must enter into a Third-Party Letter of
Agreement with us and abide by all guidelines and insurance
requirements.
Third-Party Letters of Agreement are designed for a promotional
event that is limited to 3 months or less.

for the Third-part event.
In a limited number of cases Komen Connecticut will partner with
you for an event. Typically these events are ongoing and for
extended time period with a promotional offering through your
business. Annual events are an example of this.
For the partner events, a commercial co-venture
agreement is necessary.
Please contact Komen Connecticut for more information.
Please be aware that Komen takes on no liability or costs
associated with third-party events. If you have questions
about tax, insurance, or legal issues please consult the
appropriate advisors.
We appreciate your interest
and your efforts and look forward to working with you.
